Lately I've been drawing a lot to sort of take my mind off things. I won't go into details about them, but it just eases my mind a bit.
Anyway, to provide a bit of an update here, I finally finished a chibi sketch version of my original characters. This is something I've been putting off for a LOOOONG time. Now, I'm in the process of working on the lineart and color of each character. Since it is a large piece, I'm hoping to finish by the end of March. As for my muse, lately it's been coming and going.
What generally happens is, I'll sketch something within a few hours or days depending on the size of the artwork and I'll look at it and say I love it. However, once I start the lineart I tend to look at it and say, "Why the hell did I add this here?" and kinda re-sketch / edit a few parts. Finally, once I'm pleased with the lineart, I start adding color. That's when things go wrong and I began to sink back into my habits of not wanting to draw again. I don't know if it is my anatomy or the fact that I'm still attempting to find my own art style, but either way I'm still dissatisfied.
If you can't tell I enjoy drawing in anime style so that will not change unless someone in the profession of art tells me otherwise. Most of my art inspirations comes from other CG artists who draw anime on deviantArt. I guess I just enjoy seeing vibrant colors blend so well. Also, it amazes me to see people doing speed art on Youtube so well from start to finish.
In the end, I've come to the realization that I just enjoy doing sketches rather than color my artwork. I've tried alternating between Photoshop & SAI to see which I like better. So far I've come to the conclusion of doing lineart work in SAI rather than Photoshop (I'm NEVER going back to that blasted Pen Tool ever again >.<). However, when it comes to coloring I choose Photoshop since the color swatches are already there for me.
I'm not ready to give up coloring my artwork quite yet, but I do tend to get discouraged when my artwork doesn't match what's in my mind. Also I am still quite new at drawing free hand. I need to find a way to break away from my tendencies to doodle an image from a given resource and start drawing in my own creative style. Anime makes it hard since there's a variety of ways to draw it. We'll see how it goes...
EDIT: Also to any of my watchers, advice on how to approach this problem is welcomed. Thanks!

I'm such a Computer Science dork!
Ok so last week I finally got my tablet and CS4 by using my own money for the first time. (Summer job. Yay! ^_^) And for the past week, after I finished playing Majora's Mask on VC, I've been totally addicted to Photoshop. I can't believe I never found out about this neat little computer graphic program before. You can obviously tell I'm a noob with it, (takes me a good day or two to color things) but right now I'm just experimenting with all the tools just to see what they do and how far I can take what little artistic abilities I have. xP
I'll try not to get distracted by it once classes start back up, but I'm not making any promises. It's
OMG! You just don't know! My JOY!!!
So every year I make it a tradition to go to an anime convention at least once. Well ever since the past 2-3 years I'm unable to do that because I lack a car and have to catch a ride with my parents or a friend. Yes sad I know, but hey I'm not stressing over it. Anyway about 2 years ago I found out two of my favorite anime shops closed due to lack of business and that's where I usually go to buy my pocky... =*(
Anyway I was talking to my friend a while back and somehow we ended the conversation about pocky. She was telling me that they sell them at a local store. I got excited, but I was wondering that store is mighty huge. How the heck am I
